Final Week!

Well this is it, our final week in the building is finally here. We have cried, laughed, and gone across the world together. For some this has been a long time coming, but even then, it is a bittersweet ending to the year. We are doing our best to finish strong during our quilt crunch time and enduring the stress of our finals. We are also starting to pack up our rooms and are finding things that we lost months ago, reflecting with our roommates of the times of plenty and times of famine throughout the year. The common thread holding the year together has been The Spirit of God comforting us in the highs and lows of the rollercoaster ride called Joshua. Whether climbing the peak of Masada in Israel or losing a Joshua sibling, we have seen God’s presence, goodness, and faithfulness through it all. Our Joshua class’ theme verse is Micah 6:8, “He has told you, oh Man, what is good; and what does the lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” This entire year we have been unpacking what it means to have mercy and to humbly walk with Jesus daily through times of plenty, but especially trusting God’s character through the times of famine. We are excited to transfer what this year has taught us into the real world by pouring ourselves into our summer jobs and living in fellowship with the rest of the 2018 Hume Lake Summer Staff. This year has been the hardest best year of our lives and we know that for those who come after that they are in for one crazy ride.
