Today is a bittersweet day. We ended the week here at Hungerford and Wharton, Texas with some tears. The people here are amazing. We are blessed to be able to work for God to help them. Our hearts are full of His joy and grace. The big thing that we all have learned is how to humble ourselves. It’s not about us, but instead it’s about Jesus and working for others. We would like to thank all the people at Straight Way for all that they have done for us to house us and make us feel loved. A big thank you as well to Burnell and his lovely family for helping us this whole week. We are blessed with their amazing hearts to serve.
This week we learned what it is to have a servant’s heart. Back in California, all our culture ever sees is self. In Texas, we saw a culture full of love and humble hearts. We have learned that through the trials that come our way, only God can overcome and satisfy our earthly wants. As our week comes to a close, as we pack for our flight tomorrow, as we say our goodbyes, our hearts will be forever changed by this place. Home is where the heart is and we can assure you that a part of our hearts will forever stay in Texas.
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angles nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
