1st Day in the DR!

What’s up Guys!

We have made it safe to the Dominican Republic! Our first flight from LAX to JFK in New York went super smooth! It’s was about a 5 hour flight and we arrived at about 4:45 am and our second flight was at 7:15 am to the DR which was about a 3.5 hour flight. We arrived safely in the DR around 2:00 pm and were greeted by Alberto from Students International! He and a couple other people drove us back to the SI base, and we had an orientation and then got settled in. After that we ate diner and then they had a culture night for us where they taught us how to dance the merengue and cha-cha which was super fun! After we danced, they then taught us this cup game, that I have no clue how to explain, but just trust me on this one, it was so so so much fun!!!

Today was our first full day of being in the Dominican Republic after a long two days of traveling! Today was the first time that we all went to our sites and worked in them. I am part of the Women’s sports site, and today we went to a school and played volleyball with the students for their P.E. classes! We ate Lunch with the Education El Callejon site and played some Dominican Dominoes which was super fun! I’m really excited to see what God teaches me in these next couple of weeks and hearing about what God is teaching my classmates as well!
