♪Friday morning rain is falling♪ and the rest of the weekend and following week and probably forever. Everyone in the building is stressed about Philippians but excited for the weekend. This past week everyone was consumed with memorizing Philippians and trying not to get 6 A.M. consequence. Unfortunately, some people didn’t pass but they weren’t too upset about 6 AMs. After passing (or not) people began working on the next test on Monday… Isaiah test number two (which most people failed as well).
Yet to bring a positive vibe to building, on Friday night everyone that finished work before 10:30 had the pleasure in delivering pizookie (aka heaven in your mouth) (aka a giant cookie with ice cream on top). Some people worked over the weekend, some people didn’t, but all people had a great time. On Monday, we had Israel Prep class like normal, except only about 27 of us were present because those who did not recite Philippians in time had to stay in the dining hall until they were able to pass. Most of the people didn’t get to leave the dining hall until after dinner that night. Some still haven’t passed…PHILIPPIANS IS REALLY DIFFICULT! Yet people are making the most out of their time memorizing.
Our speaker this week is Dave Hansen who is the CEO of Students International, which is the ministry we are partnering with in the Dominican Republic. On Monday night, he talked about what he does with SI, why it was started, and what it is going to look like for us in the D.R. He showed us a video of last year’s Joshua class in the Dominican and what the different ministry sites look like. Such as, physical therapy, health care, micro-finance, social work, education, dentistry, and sports. Now, we are all gearing up and are amped to head over there this Saturday. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for everyone. Goodbye for now, we will see you again on Thursday.
That is all from Drew, Kapri, Jessica and Malachi.
