It’s raining. It’s pouring. The Joshua Students are snoring…
We bump our heads every time we get up 5 minutes earlier in the morning.
Carley Miller: Okay! So, this week consisted of previews, a lovely new speaker Josh Holly, a new class taught by the man, the myth, THE LEGEND, BOB PLOUFF!! Having our second and last preview student was a bitter sweet moment for Abagail and myself; we loved living with these potential Joshua women and seeing where we once were before JWI. Being able to talk about fears, dreams, and the lovely things of life with our “Preview Baby” was nothing short of stupendous.
Josh Holly hit home on the identity we find in Christ. The comfort we have in recognizing that He is ultimately in control and has SO MUCH LOVE for all of His children. I do not understand the timing of God sometimes but this speaker was exactly what our class needed at this moment. I think it’s going around a lot because of our year hitting its halfway point but planning for the future is becoming prominent; stress over Philippians and Israel tests coming up, future missionary trips, jobs becoming dangerously monotonous… I am so thankful Josh came and spoke about evangelism in everything we do. That everywhere we go, we are to be lights of Christ and shine His love to all we encounter. This renewed our thinking and I doubt that we will slack off even though, staff and students, are all tired.
Jacob Devore: Hey its Jake, this week in the man community was pretty interesting. We had some new preview students. They seemed pretty cool – all the dudes were super nice. One highlight was that on Tuesday night two guys were going to have coffee in one of their rooms. Then others heard about it while they were talking about it, and we ended up having a ten-person coffee/tea party in his room. It was fun and we had a great chance to talk with some of the preview students and had some great coffee.
Tanner Moore: Yo yo yo fam, this week has been legit. Our speaker Josh Holly is a super cool guy with a huge heart for God and sharing the Gospel. I really enjoyed his stories and insight on life. Today he talked about Gideon and how Gideon had things in his past that made him fearful. We are fearful too, but when we go with God and His confidence we will have sufficient courage to go and face those fears. Through the book of Judges, the Israelites go in circles. They rely on God, then fall away. God sent a prophet to tell them that all their suffering was caused by their turning away from God. God wants us to learn something from our suffering and if we are still in a hard place sometimes it’s because you haven’t learned what God had for you. In other news, it rained a lot this week which was awful for walking down to SWEEPs… so I ran. We had previews this week so everyone was obviously on their best behavior. And I am just getting more and more excited for summer because of how long I know we will be in the building. God is good all the time. Bye
Abbie Bonjorni:
It is time to say hello,
And update you on our life.
The building on the hill,
As student’s dedicating our life to Christ.
This week has come and gone,
So I will take this time to share
About the Journey we’ve been on.
A week of fun events
With Preview student in the mix.
It’s been interesting to see,
How new people on the hill will change things.
They add a new dynamic,
To this adventure we call life.
They share in the things we do on a daily,
They share in our life and
Experience a glimpse of Joshua
