These last few days we spent volunteering our time to help maintain Hartland CHristian camps by doing odd jobs around the camp. The trail crew took their time hiking along the trials, raking all of them as they went. Their goal was to make the trail visible and pretty the sixth graders coming this week. The brush crew worked diligently as they cleared the debris. Other groups included wood-pit, who spent their time splitting logs. The cabin crew spent their time cleaning out cabins for future residents. The wood chipping crew chipped felled trees and larged branches. Each group had an important role to play in keeping Hartland beautiful. As we gather before leaving for our jobs one of the leads read from 1 Corinthians 12, where Paul talks about each part of the body each having their own special roles, but making the body whole. In the same way he compared our jobs at Hartland. Throughout this journey of serving in Hartland, we are reminded of our class motto: Micah 6:8, walk humbly.
