Yesterday we wrapped up our book discussion on “Tattoos on the Heart”. It was such an amazing book and so impactful for all of us that I would personally like to recommend it to everyone who is reading this blog. The rest of the interesting things happened on Thursday. We had our final talk from our speakers of the week, Dave Hanson and his guest speaker, Mariah. They made an impact on us that will not soon be forgotten, and we wished them a fond farewell as they left, hoping to see them again. We also had room checks that morning, but most people finished last touches on their rooms a little early so that they could find a good seat to hear Dave’s final talk.
In the afternoon we had interviews for summer jobs. Though the interviews were a little informal as we already knew some of the people that were interviewing us, it still made us a little anxious and most of us dressed to impress as we all wanted to get the Summer jobs of our top choice. After most of the interviews were over, some of us decided to relax by taking a hike into the lovely scenery and we got to see some amazing sights as we traversed the path of the stream that is the source of the water in the (Hume) Lake. The last thing that we did that day was to go to our Pause families for some amazing interactions and dinners, as it always goes on these nights. Everybody came back in joyous spirits because of the fellowship, food, and knowledge that they had gotten while at Pause.
