Worship Him In All Things

Hey hey hey, JWI blog readers! Life at Joshua has been seriously so great lately! This past weekend was the girls last time of hosting for women’s retreats! Whoop Whoop! We all had a lot of fun hosting the retreats even though it was a lot of work and a lot of hours but, ya know, the grind never stops. Anyways, this past weekend was really fun, after work on Friday night a big group of us played hide and seek and Mafia in the building, it was so much fun! We have a big week ahead of us because work starts on Friday morning instead of Friday afternoon, so that’s.. fun. But yea, I would say life at Joshua has really set in, relationships are truly starting to form within the Joshua community as well as with the Hume lake staff community which is super cool! I’m super excited to see what the rest of this year holds! Love you guys! – Angie Z 224

Dude what is good!? This last week has been super fun! Got to work at SS (Support Services). It was honestly lit, got to scrub them toilets and drive a truck around and just help where help was needed. Joshua has been incredible so far, I love watching the community grow closer with time, and the whole center of our growth with each other is Christ! Isn’t that just a lovely thing?! It’s weird how fast the time has gone, a month and a week I’ve already been here and it’s been such a blessing. Etiquette dinner was such a blast and so was dancing with our “dates”. It was the one day out of Joshua where we’re told to pair off so that’s always fun. All has been wonderful here and I’m stoked for God’s plan in my life and the lives of my brothers and sisters in Joshua and the work that He is going to continually do in our lives. “And that’s all I’ve got to say about that.” (Forrest Gump) “Let no despise you for your youth, but set believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12 ~ Love Jared Brandon 101

Yoooo what’s up Joshua staff, students, and faithful subscribers! It’s a pleasure to write for the JWI blog. This week has been an absolute roller coaster. From the exhilarating madness of etiquette night to the fellowship-oriented nights in the catalyst apartment with John and Christy, God has been blessing us extravagantly. The closer I get to my brothers and sisters, the more joy I find in the simplicity of life together. I’m so grateful for our speaker this week, Bryan Holland. He’s a real cool guy and has a radiant love for Jesus. The weeks get more and more challenging but the love becomes more and more rewarding. God bless you all! – Benjamin 101

Hello there!

I am so thrilled to be able to share all God has been doing in just the past couple of days. Hume had it’s final woman’s retreat this past weekend, which means that all the Joshua girls will get a much needed break from hosting (even though it was really fun). On Sunday after we all finished work a handful of us decided to go paddle boarding, and it was the best spontaneous decision EVER! It was exactly what I needed, a time to reflect on God’s beauty and goodness, through creation and through my brothers and sisters. My spirit was rested and my soul was content out on the water and under the wonderful warmth of the sun. Immediately after I got home from paddle boarding, I decided to take a “nap” at 4:30pm, and didn’t wake up until 7:00 the next day. I most definitely needed that 14.5 hours of sleep. My roommate actually slept for the exact same amount of time. So, our challenge to the rest of our class is to beat our combined amount of hours. We started the week off strong with Theology and Spiritual Formation. Through those classes God began revealing to me the fact that He is beyond worthy of my worship and praise. I will never fully grasp who He is while I am alive on this earth, but from what I do know about Him I can be quick to worship Him in all things. I am utterly shocked by the transformation that has taken place in my life and my fellow Joshua siblings in just over a month and the fact that He has so much more in store!
