A Rainy Day In Mexico!

Hello Everyone!

It is our third day in Mexico! Today was an absolute blast! Due to all the rain, school was canceled for all of the students and our projects looked a bit different! We had most all of the crews working indoors either working on pulling up tile, cleaning the tables in the dining hall, sewing pencil pouches or my assignment- organizing all the medicine in the pharmacy!

It has been really cool to see all of my Joshua family become full of love for the kids here. The way that we love God and others looks different for everyone- there is no one “set way” to love. Some are very practical and work tirelessly throughout the day to fulfill practical needs for the students and staff. Others fight through the struggle to speak with and get to know the students with their broken Spanish. Some are simply just full of a childlike joy and want to play with the students. It’s such a beautiful reminder that God has created us in such unique ways and he uses us in numerous ways even though we are all here for the same reason.

Tonight we practiced some worship songs in Spanish for our devotionals tomorrow. Our hope is to allow for more fellowship if we sing in their language as well as ours. After dinner, it was pouring rain so many of the girls danced in the rain and a few of us brought out some soap and showered outside too- it was amazing!

God had been teaching us so much while we have been here, I am excited for the rest of the week to unfold!

Adios,

Livi
