Hartland Day 3 – Driving Stick

October 3, 2018

Day three of Hartland has been amazing. Even though some ladies killed a scorpion while cleaning and we were without one of the three dump trucks for the first half of the day, we managed to get a good amount of work done. For me, I have been driving a dump truck to and from the burn pile everyday since I am one of the few who can confidently drive a stick shift. Shoutout to my mom for making me learn how to drive a manual car because not only is it fun, it’s also showing me how well I am able to drive with a big F800 vehicle even though I drive a small four cylinder dodge neon everywhere back home. I was even able to let a couple of people drive the car while we were away from all the work crews because they wanted to learn the basics. After dinner, the staff up here set up a game called Reball. It’s similar to paintball but instead of balls of paint, it’s balls of foam that hurt about the same. To end out the day all of Joshua went to the dining hall at Hartland to have an ice cream social with some of the Hartland staff and get to know them a little bit better before we head back to Hume tomorrow.
