Ephesus and Endings

Today was not only our last day exploring Türkiye, but also the long-awaited Ephesus day. And like my high school volleyball coach used to say, “last one, best one.” I can confidently say—that was exactly true. We started bright and early with a 5 a.m. breakfast before heading out on the boat. Thanks to Ozan and Dallas, the ride we were supposed to take the night before turned into a sunrise adventure on the peaceful

Priene and Apollo

We started our morning together as a group with a visit to Priene, stepping into a place rich with history. Standing in the ancient Greek theater, Sam shared insight into how old it is and the significance it once held, which made the moment feel surreal. Shortly after, Adriana led a devotional on Galatians 1:10 that really spoke with me. She talked about how caring too much about what others think can lead to timidity,

Ancient to Living History

The day started off with an exalting devotional from Deacon on 1 Peter 5:1-9. At the thirteenth temple we have the perfect view of Acropolis (City atop the hill) where we were on yesterday adventures. She went through Pslams 39:5-6 and reminded us how important each moment has the potential to be. To evaluate if each breath taken is for personal gain or used as an opportunity to further God’s kingdom and glorify Him. It was a great

A day at Aphrodisias

Hello friends and family! I have been given the privilege to update you today! Our main site of the day was Aphrodisias! We went into the checkpoint and one of my Joshua brothers named Wyatt gave a devotional on James and perseverance. I met a stray cat here that we named tater-tot, and we learned about the old photographer Ara Guler! He took cool pictures and tried to publish them, but the editors declined due

Higher-up-oils

As I watched the world fade away beneath me as I drifted through the air in a basket barely higher then my waste, the ancient ruins of Hierapolis far beneath me, and the snow white calcified travertine terraces spread out over the hillside like a cream white virus, infecting the rich green with its fingers of paper white stone, the only thought to cross my minds was “how did I get here.” This has been
