Heading to Socal!

Hey everyone!

Here’s an update on what we’ve been up to in the Joshua building. To start off, we have Brian Holland as our speaker this week. He has been going over how to be faithful, even in the mundane. A couple verses that really stood out to me this week were Matthew 14:17-18, where Jesus calls His disciples to bring what little they have so that He can do the miracle. We talked about how God is going to ask us to do things outside of our comfort zone, and He will say again and again ‘Trust me’, and we can do that, because He is faithful.

Throughout the week, many of us found time to go down to the main camp to hangout, play volleyball, and go paddle boarding. Classes went as usual and to end the week, we had dinner with our Pause families. It was a great way to get out of the building and enjoy food with members of the Hume community. That’s about it for this week. T-3 days until we leave for Hume SoCal, whoop whoop!

What’s up everybody!

This past week has been super beneficial and impactful for me, we had a speaker named Brian Holland and he was absolutely amazing. It is very clear to see that Brian is doing God’s work and is right where God wants him to be. I believe that this week God has been moving throughout the building and is working through us all. The guy community that we have built and are continuing to build and grow is absolutely bonkers. As of writing this we are getting very close to our Hume SoCal trip and our Philippians testing, which I am very nervous about but I know that it will be doable and we will be able to move on to the next chapter and Thanksgiving break!

 Thanks for listening,

This week had its ups and downs. There was crying and laughing and all sorts of in between, however this was the first week the building began to feel like home to me. I am finally starting to make the deeper friendships I have been longing for. I look forward especially to the speakers, as their perspectives have been transformative. Though classes can be exhausting, I am also learning to fall in love with the fact that I get to learn about my God all day. I am trying to find the little things I can be grateful for. Like for the fact that although we had pipe problems and could not use water for a day, I got to skip breakfast KP and sleep in LOL.

God has been showing me what is really in my heart this past month. Honestly this program has not been easy for me at all. I did not expect it to be, but geez. Getting uprooted completely from everything and everyone you know is pretty dang challenging. I have had many breakdowns and moments of contemplating quitting. However, God is revealing to me that I often run to despair before running to Him. I doubt his plan and goodness. But I am done questioning His faithfulness. All I need as proof that he will come through is to look back at what he has already done.
