Hello, friends and family! It’s me, Laila!
Let’s talk about this week because a lot happened, but it went by so fast. It was a four-day work week, so Monday, we ended work just in time to play in the snow, get ready for Philippians testing, and plan a late Valentine’s Day (or week)
Tuesday, the boys dressed up made us girls breakfast, and served us. It was so sweet. The girls did dinner, we dressed up, and let the guys eat first after a long day of shoveling snow around the building. The girls even put on an award ceremony and wrote a song for our Joshua brothers.
Monday and Tuesday, the snow came about 3ft of it, so on Wednesday, instead of classes, all the Joshua students helped shovel snow off the roofs. We all had so much fun, we had snowball fights all while testing for Philippians and trying not to fall off the roof. We came back to the building for dinner, and the guys surprised the girls with chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert.
Thursdays was our first real day of classes and a quilting meeting. It’s bittersweet to start planning the quilt, but here we are more than halfway done with Joshua:( getting ready for one of the last memories together

THEME DINNER! As you know, whoever passes Philippians gets to go to the theme dinner. The theme was Kindergarten night, so we all dressed up as kindergartners, whether it was onesies, PJs, or just putting on makeup as a six-year-old would, and no one forgot their stuffed animals. We had Dino Nuggets with Mac and Cheese, we did our math facts, played Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, and ended the night with musical chairs.
If you thought Valentine’s Day was over, so did the girls, but the guys are so sweet and thoughtful that they ended the week by writing us homemade cards of encouragement. It’s been sweet to see how much the boys care for us and protect us, and we love them just as much. I’m so grateful that the Lord placed all these amazing people in my life, and I can’t wait to see what He has for all of us.
