Hey everyone!
I would describe our last week before our spring break as both peaceful and penetrating.
I came off an amazing weekend training with some of my Joshua siblings at the ropes course for
my High Adventure Guide job this summer! It is a blessing to be a part of the community of
Hume Lake, in such a beautiful place of God’s creation. The weather this week was an amazing
addition, with the temperature reaching up to the high 80’s! Lots of time was spent outside
enjoying the sunshine.

Our last night at the building was well spent as we dressed in our most elegant togas
(don’t tell anyone, but most of them were bedsheets, including mine) and celebrated a
Greek-themed Olympics! This themed dinner was definitely one of my favorites. We all dressed
up, reclined at one big table, and enjoyed charcuterie. The biggest part of this dinner was
competing in the team challenges. You just had to be there to experience the hype behind the
chants, pushups, and musical chairs contests!

We got the privilege to have Rachel Closs. She is a former Hume Pondy director and
current missionary in Bisorio, Papua New Guinea. Rachel’s story is an incredible testament to
her zeal for Yahweh and her heart for the nations. Personally, I was deeply inspired to hear her
speak of God’s guidance and steadfast love despite her own struggles and storms. Her main
takeaway was this: laying our every desire and passion at Jesus’ feet, allowing him to have
complete control over our lives. Because our lives are in fact not our own; this life I live is all for
Christ.
As we leave the Lake for our final break, I think I speak for everyone when I say the
bittersweet feeling of this season is beginning to set in. We have learned and seen and grown
so much, finding precious moments in the spontaneous weekend trips, the late worship nights,
and the soul clarity moments with the Lord. When entering into the final steps of Joshua, it is my
prayer that we would walk strong and faithful till the end of the program. And even then, be a
living sacrifice for the rest of our lives.
With love!
