Here in Turkey

Today’s Adventure

Today was our first full day in Turkey and we were able to go to the Antalya Harbor and a section of the Via Sebaste (Roman road). I am so incredibly blessed to have been apart of this program and to visit such a beautiful country where the history is so rich. As soon as we touched down into the area, we are treated with going to a place where Paul would have actually sailed out of, the Antalya harbor that is. To read the book of Acts and then actually be able to see the very cliffs that he and his companions would have seen is just mind blowing. From there going to the roads that made it even possible for the gospel to be rapidly spread out throughout the Roman Empire and the rest of the world was such a shock.

The timing of the Roman Empire and the height of power and influence they had on the known world was perfect for the spread of the gospel, and largely contributes to why we today have the gospel available to us. God has his hand over this time as Paul and his fellow missionaries were able to change the world starting here in Antalya, and by the grace of God we are feeling the ramifications of that momentus occasion. Thank God the Father and his Son Lord Jesus for the gift that it is to be able to visit the area of the very start of the spreading of the greatest gift that will ever be.
