Hume SoCal

Hi friends and family!! This week at Hume SoCal was AWESOME. We got to learn what it’s like to serve the Lord right, not only in our actions, but also in our hearts. I was blessed to be on the #rakemasterteam for two of the three days. I am so blessed to be allowed to serve the upcoming campers arriving in Hume SoCal. There were high moments on the team, but sometimes we would hit a wall. The Lord met me where I was and gave me a heart check during the times I wanted to be done. He would remind me why I was there, but most importantly, who I was doing it for (the Lord!) He reminded me of what a blessing it is to be gifted with an able body to serve. He magnified the things I easily forget on a day-to-day basis. Legs and arms that work, and breath in our lungs from God.

Not only did we get to serve as a family, but we also got to spend time together as brothers and sisters in Christ! Pumpkin carving? Check! Goofy good ol ‘karaoke? Check!! Dance party and milkshakes!? Check and CHECK.

One night we hiked up to a lookout and took in the Creator’s handiwork. His beauty is unfathomable. We got to worship Him under the stars, during the sunset, and even around a fire in victory circle. I got to attend a prayer meeting in the morning to practice prayer. The importance of prayer made a huge impact throughout the rest of that day.

Having this time to serve alongside my Joshua family filled my heart with great joy.

Thank you, Jesus.
