Last Week Before Break!

Last week before Thanksgiving! Each day seems longer and longer with the early sunset and the anxious anticipation of seeing our families and friends back home. With this anticipation comes the first real trial with the Joshua Fast for most people. We’re tasked with the awkward goal of walking out of a room once a movie is put on, silently bearing the pain of listening to our siblings’ terrible music taste, and facing the stumbling

Nothing Short of Fun

Hiii guys! It’s Mary! This week at the Joshua Wilderness Institute was nothing short of fun, emotional, cool, and full of God’s hand constantly working personally in my life.  We started out the week with Old Testament and Theology, one of our Theology professors being our speaker, Aaron Logan!  Aaron Logan, this week was amazing! Hume Socal!!

What an amazing week it’s been here at Hume SoCal. After the long, winding drive from our home in Sierras to Green Valley Lake in the San Bernardino forest, the last thing everyone wanted to do was “squeeze every last drop of energy” out of us, according to camp director Bob. We were won over, however, by his persistent thankfulness and genuine excitement to see the camp transformed by our hard work.  My assignment for

A Relaxed, Fun Week

This week was a more relaxed and fun week. On Monday we got to meet another catalyst couple. Their names are Dearle and Becky and they also brought their fun daughter Claire. Since we didn’t have a speaker this week that time was filled with optional prayer time with the catalyst couple. I really enjoyed that time to pray with some of my other classmates. I would recommend if this program is something you are
